Lord Drayson is the new Minister of State for Science and Innovation at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. He has responsibility for the British National Space Centre as well as more broadly developing and delivering policy that will contribute to world-class research in the UK and the conversion of science into wealth through innovation.
He replaces Ian Pearson who has joined HM Treasury as Economic Secretary. Lord Drayson's appointment is part of the latest changes to Ministerial portfolios formally announced by the Government on 6 October 2008.
