The UK Space Agency is an executive agency of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills(BIS).
As part of the transition process from BNSC to the executive agency detailed plans are in progress as to the structure of the UK Space Agency.
Dr David Williams is the Acting Chief Executive of the UK Space Agency.
The Space Leadership Council formed at the launch of the UK Space Agency on 1st April 2010, provides strategic advice and challenge for the UK Space Agency and identifies future opportunities for growth in the space sector, the wider economy and society in general.

Science Programme Advisory Committee
The Science Programme Advisory Committee includes scientists, academics, industrialists and representatives from the sector with specific expertise in space science. Membership is supplemented by mission or topic specialists who attend meetings on an as-needed basis. The Committee’s purpose is to brief the UK delegates on the ESA Science Programme Committee regarding the UK’s perspective on Europe-wide space issues, taking due regard of the policies set out by BIS and the UK Space Agency. Additionally, the Committee provides advice to the Chief Executive (Acting) of UK Space Agency regarding the overall UK strategy for involvement in and funding of space science projects.
